Questions about sex, sexuality and gender are among the most pressing ethical issues facing the church today.”

Discover the truth about
Jesus, Sex & Gender

Teens:
Finally a series that doesn’t shrink back from tough topics and also avoids purity culture clichés. This series addresses the issues you hear about most with grace and truth.

Parents:
This series is meant to help you disciple your kids in the Creator’s design for sexuality and gender. Through the many stories and testimonies you will learn more about the heart of God, understand Biblical answers to some of the deepest questions surrounding these topics, and be led into how best to share them with your children.

We are excited to start a new series, Christian Sexuality!  This video-based, comprehensive discipleship experience will help youth leaders, mentors, and parents engage their youth in one of the most important conversations of our age.

This is an opt-in program.  Students will sign up for this series, with parents' permission and signage.  The guys and girls will meet separately at times that work for each group, and will meet outside of youth group.

The teacher for the guys is Nathaniel Vanderploeg, the Associate Pastor.  The girls will be taught by Sue Hays.

Topics We unpack:

Week 1: God’s Lovestory

Understanding God's love for us is foundational for understanding sex, sexuality, and gender.

Week 2: The Authority of God & Scripture

Before we can talk about sexuality and gender, we need to truly believe that God is our authority and he's communicated his direction through Scripture.

Week 3: Shame & Forgiveness

Shame often cripples a healthy sexuality; we need to understand that God is eager to forgive us for our mistakes.

Week 4: Sex & Marriage

God designed sex and marriage for a purpose and it's much more than just meeting our sexual and emotional wants.

Week 5: Singleness & Intimacy
We can live without sex, but we can't live without intimacy. True human flourishing can be found outside of sex and marriage.

Week 6: Porn & Masturbation

Porn is more influential than ever before and it impacts how we see others, pursue relationship, and ultimately the way we practice sex.

Week 7: Same-Sex Sexuality

God loves gay people, even if the church hasn't always done so. Christians need to pursue both grace and truth when it comes to same-sex sexuality.

Week 8: Transgender Identities

A meaningful and important dialogue about transgender identities and how Christians can think biblically and relationally about trans*-identify image bearers.

Week 9: LGBTQ+ Questions
We address the most difficult questions with honest and raw responses.

Week 10: Dating & Friendships
Understand the beauty of non-erotic intimacy, and how to establish boundaries once we start dating.

Week 11: Sex in the iWorld
Questions today about sexuality and gender were not part of our conversation 30 years ago. So what will the next 30 years bring?

Week 12: Following Jesus in a Sexualized Age
Radical living for a radical age--following Jesus today isn't easy, but it's worth it!
