Portland Needs More Churches
-
Portland is ranks #13 in America's most unchurched cities.
-
If all of Portland's existing churches were completely full, there'd only be room for 29% of Portland's population.
-
Portland is tied with Seattle for the most secular city in the U.S., and is the only place where non-Christians outnumber Christians.

There's a great need for the Gospel in Portland - and for more churches to share it.

So let's plant one
It's been said that planting churches is one of the most effective ways to spread the Gospel. New churches tend to be more efective in reaching unbelievers than existing churches.

Meet the planters
Meet the Vanderploegs. Nathaniel, Katie, Cora and Irene. They've been part of RVFC since 2018. Nathaniel's the current Associate Pastor.
They'll move in summer 2026 to start this new adventure.

A Church Based on Hospitality
Hospitality means "the love of stranger."

Henri Nouwen says it's "The creation of a free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy.”

Rosaria Butterfield says it, “Turning strangers into friends, and friends into family.”

It has the power to transform lives. Perhaps even cities.
Including yours.
